Battle River Power Coop is a rural electrification association (REA) that has been operating in Rural Alberta for 76+ years. In the wake of WWII, when investor-owned utilities didn’t see any benefit to servicing rural areas, communities stepped up to build the REAs themselves. Today, REAs keep Rural Alberta powered, connected, and community-driven.
